DON’T SWEAT THE RECIPES – SAVOR THE EXPERIENCE!
At La Villa Bonita, you might notice something surprising: we don’t hand you a recipe book on day one. That’s not a mistake—it’s by design. Chef Ana believes the best way to learn isn’t by staring at a piece of paper. It’s by living the process—smelling, tasting, feeling textures, and absorbing the magic of traditional Mexican cooking, just like she learned from her great-grandmother, grandmothers, aunts, and mom.
In our open-air teaching kitchen, we cook the way families have done for generations—together. You might not make every single dish yourself, but your group will make them all, sharing the tasks, the laughter, a cocktail or two, and plenty of stories along the way. This is hands-on, communal cooking at its most joyful.
Now, about that recipe book—don’t worry, it’s coming! After you return home, Chef Ana and Chef Ale will lovingly create a custom recipe book just for your week. It’s not a quick printout—it’s a beautifully crafted keepsake with detailed recipes and photos from your experience. We’ll send it to you as a PDF via WhatsApp, and we promise—it’s 100% worth the wait.
To give you a taste, we’ve included a little sample below. And this is just JUST DAY ONE of the Mexican Grilling and Pit Barbecue Week that includes Carne Asada Nortena, Volcanes, Salsa Aguacatada, Frijoles con Veneno, Discada Nortena, Pollo Sentado (beer steamed grilled chicken), Crema de Habanero Chile, Chile Poblano Dressing, and a Strawberry and Chile Serrano Margarita. Enjoy!
