Four Coasts: Fish, Seafood & Wine Week is a deep dive into Mexico’s most iconic coastal cuisines — from the bright citrus flavors of Veracruz, to the bold Pacific dishes of Guerrero, the shrimp-centric specialties of Sinaloa and Baja, and the ceviche traditions of Nayarit and Jalisco. You’ll cook in La Villa Bonita’s open-air kitchen with breathtaking mountain views, enjoy curated Mexican wine pairings selected by our sommelier, and relax in the orchard-side culinary retreat that Chef Ana built specifically for hands-on cooking. This is the only place where you can “travel” to four coastal regions of Mexico — while staying in one magical spot in the Tepozteco mountains.
IMPORTANT! This schedule provides a general outline of a typical 7-night culinary vacation; every week is different. We may adjust dishes or excursions to take advantage of seasonal ingredients or guest interests — always to enhance your experience.
Day 1 – Arrival in Mexico City (Sunday)
We greet you at Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) and bring you to your hotel in Mexico City. This evening, enjoy dinner at a restaurant carefully chosen by Chef Ana, highlighting the incredible flavors of one of the world’s great culinary capitals. (Dinner is not included; guests order à la carte.) Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 2 – La Nueva Viga Fish Market + Wine Tasting + Transfer to Tepoztlán (Monday)
After breakfast, we head to La Nueva Viga, the second-largest seafood market in the world after Toyosu in Tokyo. With Chef Ana as your guide, meet expert fishmongers, learn to select seafood like a professional, and enjoy lunch surrounded by the vibrant energy of the market.
We then travel to Tepoztlán and arrive at La Villa Bonita, where you can settle in, relax by the pool, or sip an orchard-fresh welcome cocktail. In the early evening, enjoy a guided Mexican wine tasting with Sommelier Fernanda Gutiérrez, featuring boutique wines from Baja California, Querétaro, Coahuila, and Guanajuato — several of which will appear throughout the week.
Day 3 – Flavors of Veracruz (Tuesday)
Breakfast at La Villa Bonita is one of the highlights of your stay. Each morning features a rotating hot dish from Mari’s kitchen, homemade breads and biscuits, seasonal fruit, granola, house jams, and Mexican coffee prepared by Emanuel on our Italian machine. Today we explore the bright, soulful coastal cuisine of Veracruz, where indigenous, Spanish, and Afro-Caribbean traditions blend beautifully. After lunch, many guests enjoy lingering in the open-air kitchen with wine or cocktails, relaxing by the heated pool, or taking a stroll into town for nieves.

Torito de Cacahuate — a traditional Veracruz cocktail made with peanut liqueur, sweet and creamy with a touch of warmth that complements the regional spices.

Day 4 – Acapulco & the Cuisine of Guerrero (Wednesday)
Breakfast features a rotating hot dish such as huevos a la mexicana, served with homemade breads, fruit, granola, jam, and coffee. We take a short morning visit to the daily market and the tortilla mill to select key ingredients and acquire fresh masa. You’ll have opportunities all week to perfect your tortilla-making technique. Today highlights the bold Pacific flavors of Guerrero, especially dishes from Acapulco’s vibrant seafood scene. After class, evenings are relaxed. Guests may enjoy cocktails in the kitchen, a dip in the pool, a stroll into town, or optional board games like 5 Crowns or Mexican Train.

Day 5 – Sinaloa & Baja: Shrimp Heaven (Thursday)
Optional yoga available at La Buena Vibra Hotel (extra fee). Breakfast features a different regional hot dish such as enchiladas rojas, served with homemade breads, fruit, and coffee. Today we celebrate the seafood-rich traditions of Sinaloa and Baja California, home to some of Mexico’s most beloved shrimp and fish dishes. Evening options include relaxing in the orchard, enjoying cocktails with friends, or exploring Tepoztlán’s downtown.

Day 6 – Fresh Flavors of Nayarit & Jalisco (Friday)
You begin the day with a full Mexican breakfast, featuring a different hot dish from Mari’s kitchen — such as chilaquiles verdes, squash blossom omelet, or enchiladas rojas — along with breads, fruit, granola, jams, and Mexican coffee prepared by Emanuel. Today highlights the citrusy, vibrant seafood dishes of Nayarit and Jalisco. Guests have the late afternoon free to shop, explore the town, or relax by the heated volcanic-rock pool. In the evening, guests who wish may take a taxi to La Taberna del Telón for live tropical music and dancing — an optional independent activity that we’re happy to arrange.

Day 7 – Free Day (Saturday)
Breakfast features another regional hot dish — such as sopes, chilaquiles, enchiladas rojas, or an omelet with squash blossoms — along with fruit, breads, and coffee. Today is your opportunity to create your own itinerary. You may explore the artisan market, enjoy a temazcal, visit local museums, hike the Tepozteco, book a spa treatment, explore Cuernavaca, or simply relax at La Villa Bonita — reading by the pool, enjoying the orchard, or savoring the mountain views. We are happy to help arrange taxis, spa appointments, or provide personalized suggestions. Your final evening is yours — perhaps a stroll into town, time at the pool, or conversation in the open-air kitchen.

Day 8 – Departure (Sunday)
Enjoy a final breakfast featuring a regional favorite such as sopes with salsa verde, fresh bread, fruit, and coffee. Departure after breakfast. We will make our plan for return to the MEX airport on Saturday.

While we do not accept cancelations or refund payments, if you need to change your reservation for any reason you can do so ONCE without penalty and subject to availability. You will receive a credit towards the same experience that you can apply to a different date or different experience. If you choose a more expensive experience you will need to pay the difference. Credits may not be used on experiences outside of Tepoztlan or special event weeks and may not be used with discounts of any nature. Please contact us for further details.

Welcome to Chef Ana´s mountain home that was specially designed for her culinary program. The property consists of 8 guests rooms all with private baths. Each room has a different design and are very comfortable. All rooms have a king bed and some rooms have the possibility of 2 twin beds or 1 king. All rooms have french doors that open up to a common courtyard with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and steps from the open-air kitchen.
La Villa Bonita is built in a citrus orchard on a hectare of terraced land, complete with an herb and vegetable garden. The specially-designed open-air kitchen is complete with a living area, three sinks, lots of cooking and prep space as well as a 360-degree view of the majestic mountains. Above the kitchen sits our 16-person-capacity glass table with an incredible panoramic view of the Tepozteco mountains, the ex-convent, and the town below. La Villa Bonita is located in a very quiet residential area of town away from the downtown hum.
