Meet Amanda and Vote on New Experiences!
Meet our summer intern and college student, Amanda — and she’s not just any intern. She’s a returning guest who has visited us with her mother and sister for weeks in both Tepoztlán and Mérida, so she knows La Villa Bonita from the inside out. Summer is always our brainstorming season, and Amanda brings fresh energy, new ideas, and the drive to actually make things happen. She’s the inspiration behind much of what you’ll read below.
As many of you know, our experiences in Tepoztlán have been completely revamped. We’ve added new tours, new culinary elements, and exciting new dishes — including a new Wine and Seafood Week, a Pit BBQ Week that is now a centerpiece of every week just steps from the pool, and Ale’s Week, which has been warmly received. We also launched our brand-new destination Mérida after years of research, and added two beautiful new rooms designed by Chef Ana. Whew — that is a lot. And we are proud of every bit of it.

🌶️ All About Chiles — Ever wonder how many chiles Chef Ana has in her Chile Library at LVB? Learn to identify fresh and dried chiles gathered from across Mexico, and discover that the range goes far beyond heat. It’s about flavor, smoke, and nuance — and knowing how to choose and use them at home.
🎨 Mural Walking Tour of Tepoztlán — Tepoztlán is filled with extraordinary murals. Learn about the artists (maybe even meet one!), the stories they tell, and what they portray. Because the murals change regularly, this tour will always be fresh. Expect surprises, snacks, and a great time along the way.
🦃 Oaxaca for Thanksgiving — We’ve done Oaxaca in the spring and just launched Mérida, but running them back-to-back has been a stretch. We’re now considering Oaxaca weeks over Thanksgiving — perfect weather, a wonderful break from routine. We’re actively looking at Nov 21–28 & Nov 28–Dec 5, 2026 and Nov 13–20 & Nov 20–27, 2027. 🏙️ Mexico City + Tepoztlán Week — Many guests already spend time in CDMX before or after their stay. What if we made it official? Three days exploring Mexico City with our local contacts, then cooking together in the comfort of Tepoztlán. This could be something really special.
