Four Coasts, Two Glasses: Mexico’s Wine & Seafood Week
There’s a reason we call it a week unlike any other on our calendar. Most culinary vacations pick one region and stay there. Ours takes you across four of Mexico’s coastlines — Veracruz, Guerrero, Sinaloa and Baja, Nayarit and Jalisco — without ever making you catch a flight.
It starts at the source.
Before a single pan hits the fire, we take you to La Nueva Viga — the second-largest seafood market in the world, after Toyosu in Tokyo. Walking those aisles with Chef Ana is like getting a master class before the class even begins: how to spot a fish at its peak, what a real Mexican shrimp should smell like, why the catch changes with the coast. Everything you cook that week traces back to what you saw and touched that morning.

One night in the heart of the city.
Your trip opens with a night in Centro Histórico at the Zócalo Central Hotel, steps from the cathedral and the Palacio Nacional, capped with a special welcome dinner. It’s the perfect overture — a taste of Mexico City before the mountains and the coastlines take over.
A different coast, a different day.
Once you arrive at La Villa Bonita, each cooking day is devoted to a different stretch of Mexican coastline — the citrus-bright seafood of Veracruz, the bold chile-forward dishes of Guerrero, the shrimp country of Sinaloa and Baja, the ceviche traditions of Nayarit and Jalisco. Same kitchen, same mountain view — four completely different culinary worlds.
Wine most people have never met.
Mexico makes extraordinary wine, and almost nobody outside the country has tasted it. That’s exactly why we built two tastings into this week with our sommelier. The first happens on your first day back at La Villa Bonita — a proper introduction to the boutique labels of Baja, Querétaro, Coahuila, and Guanajuato, several of which will reappear alongside your meals all week. The second is something truly special: a trip to Sierra Encantada, where you’ll taste wine alongside some of the finest goat cheese in the world, made right there on the mountain.
By the end of the week you’ll have traveled four coasts by taste, met a market most travelers never see, and discovered a wine country most people don’t even know exists.
Our next Wine & Seafood Week departs October 18-25 — and spaces are going fast. [See dates and reserve your place →]
