When we built La Villa Bonita, we really wanted a space that people would want to LIVE IN and NEVER WANT TO LEAVE. This is the star attraction — the space where all of the action takes place. This is where we meet, share time together, hang out, play games, cook, eat, and enjoy the incredible views. This is a sacred space and now it is as I have always imagined it. – Chef Ana
I have wanted to upgrade and integrate our kitchen forever! Now it is finally here. My “dream kitchen.” After months of planning with my good friend and architect, Yael we finally decided to take the leap. When we were in Oaxaca for our Art and Eat weeks with guests, the workers came in and created a vibrant and fun masterpiece.
The cooking area is the center of all of the action and I wanted to make it accessible, better and easier to use. We added more stove tops and integrated our own tlacuil! It is modern of course, but I have always wanted an integrated space to make your tortillas. It is really a great space and I think one of the best places to cook in the world. With our view of the tepozteco, fun casual space in evenings for board games, perhaps a game of cribbage or just hanging out with a cocktail, this is a wonderful space for our guests and for me!
